Stretch To Win Institute®
Certified Fascial Stretch Therapist
Fascial Stretch Therapy™ is an assisted stretching technique performed by a certified FST Therapist, targeting both muscle and fascia, the connective tissue that surrounds muscles, tendons, organs, bones and joints. Amanda, your therapist will traction the joint with a gentle pull removing restrictions in and around the capsule for greater range of motion. The technique is gentle and pain free while moving the neck, spine, legs and arms through various planes of movement. FST is designed to relieve the stress and strain placed on muscles and connective tissues as a result of sports and everyday activity.
Often times our bodies become overly stressed through poor posture, repetitive stress injuries, lack of exercise, an accident, surgery or over-training. What’s happening is the body begins to compensate causing a symptom of the fascia to thicken and shorten. Connective tissue holds everything together, with an appearance similar to a spider’s web. It is a continuous structure that exists from head to toe without interruption. It holds the structures together, as well as apart. Thus, newly available research has proven it to be the tissue of form. Overtime the inappropriate stress to the fascia leads to pain and discomfort. FST has the ability to relieve discomfort by decreasing compression and impingement in the joints and unlock fascial restrictions to restore chronic muscle tightness and tension.
As your therapist, Amanda will access your posture, looking for imbalances, as well as possible history of imbalances. Then by synchronizing the breath with slow undulating movement, the joints begin to warm up maximizing blood flow. With an array of stretching sequences, Amanda will stretch your entire body. The experience of FST is very relaxing and peaceful giving the opportunity for positive change and transformation.
